Cashman Blast, a simple puzzle game is available on the Android Market. It's a nice puzzle game for those of you who like pure brain exercise and have no desire to play mind-numbing time-wasters. But, how does this game fare against the current crop of smartphone apps?
To start with, it is apparent that Cashman Blast has a lot more going for it than just pure brain exercise. You can purchase upgrades to customize your gameplay experience, and you can also earn points by playing mini games within the Cashman Blast app. Plus, you can purchase 'powerups' that will help you in your quest to solve each level, including one called the Shape Keeper. Shape Keeper is an interesting little game that uses a device to draw different shapes from a selected image. The shape that you choose is then sent to your screen, and you must fit the shape into the exact area to unlock the secret door.
And so far, I am very pleased with the various features that the Cashman Blast game offers. With a low cost of just 99 cents to play, and free trials available, it's easy to see why this might be a hit with kids and parents alike. My only concern was that it felt a bit short, and I felt as though I had played that many times already. It definitely had better graphics, and I would say that it gave the same 'wow' factor as many free online flash games do, but that may be due to the fact that I was testing an android app and not an iPhone, which have better graphics. That said, it is entertaining enough, and I am sure that the makers of the Cashman Blast game understand that the graphics do add value to the experience and have added in a few more features to justify its cost.
