Cars: Fast as Lightning is a fun, family racing game featuring Lightning McQueen and his friends. The slot car-style racing is a blast, but the city-building aspect of the game can be a distraction. The races are exciting and take the form of head-to-head competitions on various tracks. As you win races, you unlock new characters and tracks that can be customized with fun elements like bridges and tunnels. There are also challenges to complete, keeping the game interesting. However, the city-building part of the game feels out of place and takes away from the racing experience. The energy system restricts the number of races you can participate in, adding further interruptions to the gameplay. Despite these drawbacks, Cars: Fast as Lightning is kid-friendly and captures the magic of the movie with its authentic character voices and humorous dialogue.
