Tournament Series: The Premier League
Badminton League, otherwise known as the Redfish Games is an international team league presently held in India. It is one of the leading badminton tournaments organized in different parts of the country. The tournament was first held in 2021 in Deccan Plateau. Sportz & Live Private Limited, which is the managing company for the Badminton League, has the exclusive rights to run and carry out the tournament. The first season of the tournament had a record prize of Rs 1.6 crores (approximate) which raised many expectations in the sports lovers all over India as to how this could be possible. The second season of the league was also a good source of revenue for both the organizing committee and the players and thus enabled it to continue and get stronger support from everyone.
The Indian badminton players are mostly sponsored by the various companies that are involved in the sport in India such as Badminton League, Cricbuzz, Lancers, IFT etc. This allows them to be able to improve their skills and also get a better chance to earn prize money. Thus they play a lot more seriously and in a professional manner in these badminton leagues. They do not indulge in any foul playing methods or vices which would make them lose points. They respect each other and treat each other with fairness irrespective of gender and age.
Each season has its own theme and this time around the theme is "The Premier League". This is followed up by another international tournament called the World Games which is organized by Cricbuzz. The first season of Badminton League was successful because of the excellent support from all the companies which are involved in the sport in India and provided financial help to the players as well as organizing the events. The second season of the league has proven to be just as successful and will most likely be repeated in the near future.
