Terminal Emulator lets Android users install and run Linux commands on their phones. You will need a bit of coding knowledge to use it to the full extent. There are several permissions you need to grant the app before use. Despite that, it’s one of the less invasive of its kind.
Small interface and font size
The interface is simple but its text is too small and not highlighted. It’s easy to make mistakes due to the small screen size of the app. The list of built-in commands varies depending on your Android device. There are also better emulators like the BusyBox that carry extra command lines and tools.
Do not mistake running Linux utilities with rooting your phone. That’s a different process. If you have a rooted Android, this app still works. While it won’t improve performance, you’d gain a lot more control over your device.
Minor glitches while coding
The app is very lenient on your resources. It doesn’t use data unless you execute something that involves the internet. One thing the developers need to equip it with is keyboard control. Your text should be case-insensitive at all time. You may also experience minor glitches when trying to input custom codes.
Add Linux to your device
Terminal Emulator is not for everyone. If you’re not familiar with coding, you’ll have a rough time using this programme. There are no tutorials within the software. On the other hand, experts won’t find this app very useful for it lacks the advanced tools.
