Tanuki Sunset is a fun and addictive sport for 2 people. For a fast-paced sports game, Tanuki Sunset's concept isn't that hard. You just have to master the nudge button (or whatever it's called) and be as stylish as possible with your skateboard.
The point of the game is not just zipping around the multilayer streets of Tanuki Beach on your board but mastering maneuvers, tricks, combos and getting those points you need to win. In this regard, the game is not only about speed and tricks. It's also about your strategy and planning out your next move. A nice little addition to the game is the randomly generated "strats" that you can use in the lanes of the multilayer streets. These are simple cubes you can place in the lanes and vary their color, pattern and value, to make a completely unique set of patterns to try out. Plus, you must first line up your moves along the lane, and then you choose a move, and perform it.
When you first start playing, you'll see the city of Tanuki is not the smoothest place to drive at, even with the new roads added in. Also, you may notice how slow some of the waves are. Although the waves get much bigger as you progress through the game, it's still kind of slow. And as you become more skilled at playing the game, you'll find that you no longer have to worry so much about slow waves and curves. All in all, Tanuki Sunset is a fun, procedurally generated, roller coaster skateboarding game with some neat features that really make it an enjoyable time.
