Platypus - A Game You Cannot Miss

Platypus is an arcade horizontally scrolling shooter video game developed by Anthony Flack and Melioriose. The player controls the aircraft (a horizontal-moving green and yellow blimp) and flies an ancient, horizontal-moving aircraft (a little-used retro aircraft, the last of the fictional F-27 series). The objective of Platypus is to destroy enemy satellites and soldiers while protecting the satellites and the soldiers on the ground. The player earns money and credits towards the center of the map via scoring goals and flying through level after level. The main objective in each level is to destroy as many enemy satellites as possible before the time runs out and you lose the level.
Unlike other side-scrolling shooters, the objective of Platypus is to destroy enemy aircraft and soldiers rather than the scenery. When you see an aircraft or soldier, shoot it and move the cursor over it to reveal the next target. There are several different types of weaponry in this game including missiles, bombs, laser barrages, and mines. The objective usually appears after several waves of incoming troops overwhelm the player's small force and it becomes increasingly difficult to defend your small force from increasingly large numbers of troops that continually arrive on your side of the battlefield. In later levels, once the enemy is defeated and the objective no longer needs to be attacked, the game switches to a timed sequence of events where you defend and attack the enemy base from within a confined and limited amount of time.
