Mystic Quest Revisited is a remade version of the old PC game that we all loved in the nineties. The story of Mystic Quest is about a young girl, who after being possessed by a demon, has to find out its origins and how to break it free. The player takes control of this girl and goes on a journey, battling demons along the way and unlocking new locations to go. Although the graphics were not updated when the game came out, I would still consider it as one of the best looking games on the market. They have managed to retain most of the old content but added new elements that make the game much more interesting.
There are new items to be found, new monsters to fight and puzzles to solve while on your journey. Another thing that this game has that other similar games don't have is the ability to save your game at any time. So instead of losing all the progress you've made on the game, you can simply restart it and try again. This makes the game much more challenging and you will find the replay value far outweighing the dark design that the game is based on.
When it comes down to Mystic Quest versus any other old games on the market, the answer is simple. If you enjoy old games, then this is for you. It's just like the olden days when games weren't developed so much, they were just made to look good. With this game however, you will find hidden gems within the coding and some truly fantastic artwork that truly capture the era when it was first released. If you are looking for a good old-fashioned adventure then play Mystic Quest Resurgence instead and you'll be happy you did!
