Halo: Combat Evolved is a futuristic first-person shooter video game developed by Bungie and released by Microsoft Game Studios. It was first released as a release game for Microsoft's Xbox platform on November 15, 2021. As part of the Halo franchise, it is one of the more popular games of the Xbox era and has achieved cult status among gaming fanatics across the world.
Halo: Combat Evolved is an improvement on previous Halo games. The game gives the player a more active role in the virtual war against the Covenant, the creatures that destroyed the Earth. In this game, players can choose to be either the enemy or the allies, and the level is increased through vertical combat only. You can fight against the Covenant directly, which is more traditional than the other games in the franchise, or you can go on a campaign against the evil Sangheili, the enemy warriors. The latter is the more traditional mission set in a sci-fi world, where you fight against the Covenant in the atmosphere of a slipspace portal.
The story line of the game mirrors that of the novel Halo: Escalation, which is why it can easily be considered as a prequel. Halo: Combat Evolved is not only a video game but it is also a book. The book tells the history of the Halo, including the conflicts and rise of the Covenant. The game itself is not only a video game but it is also a book that teach you about shooting, fighting, building and much more. It's fun and entertaining to play, and it will teach you something about gaming history.
