GTA5 Coop Mod is a free Windows mod for Grand Theft Auto 5 that lets you complete missions with friends. Regardless of how much content GTA5 has on its own, being able to carry out heists, road trips and other activities with other players adds another dimension to the game.
Since this program is a mod, it's not the same as installing just any other program. If you're new to modding, we recommend that you search for some help. GTA 5 Low End PC and GTA 5 Prison are other mods that are worth checking out, whether you’re just getting started with modding or are already experienced.
Installation
To be able to mod your PC version of GTA5, you need to know what you’re doing with this program. Here’s some help if you’re stuck:
- Make sure you're able to run scripts within GTA5. You must install ScriptHookV & ScriptHookVDotNet.
- Drag the ‘client folder’ into the scripts folder of the GTA5 root folder. If there isn't one there, you'll have to create one.
- Start the game and open the menu by pressing F9.
- Start your connection to a server.
Playing online
Rockstar Games strongly disapproves of modding GTA5 online because it can break the game. Anyone who is caught doing so will be banned permanently from the game. If you want to keep your online access to GTA5, make sure you perform your modding offline.
Host your own server
As an alternative to modding the public version of GTA5, you can host your modded version on your own private server. This gives you the option of playing online with friends without violating the game publisher's policies.
Our take
The GTA5 Coop Mod can present occasional bugs, which is already common with other mods. Even so, this is a small price to pay for the extra features it provides.
We particularly enjoyed the cooperative aspect that makes the most of the Los Santos open-world. This program is an excellent game mod for the PC version of GTA5 to download and play.
