Burn4Free is a colorful and popular burning utility for Windows that allows users to easily burn audio, video, and data files to CD and DVD. With two user modes, Expert and Easy, using Burn4Free is straightforward. Simply add your files and choose to burn audio or data. There is also a convenient fly window that enables users to drag and drop files for burning without even opening the program.
One of the standout features of Burn4Free is its ability to burn ISO files. The program also offers decent configuration settings and even includes an auto-shutdown feature, which is ideal for time-consuming burning processes. However, the interface can be a bit overwhelming at times, but adjusting the View options can help make it less confusing.
Unfortunately, Burn4Free is marred by a cluttered interface and the installation of a toolbar. The program is filled with ads, and modifying the toolbars reveals that many of the program "options" are actually links to the Burn4Free website, where users are encouraged to download more software. The automatic installation of a toolbar is highly undesirable.
Overall, Burn4Free is a capable program for burning music and data disks, but the presence of ads and sneaky toolbars detracts from the user experience.
