A brutal revenge story with solid combat

Acts of Blood is a third-person beat-'em-up action game centered on revenge and close-range combat. Set in Bandapa, it follows Hendra as he hunts those responsible for his family's murder. Its focus on fighting, counters, combos, and enemy reactions gives it a distinct identity. The mature tone, violence, and darker subject matter make it particularly suited for adult players.

Acts of Blood centers on Hendra’s pursuit of those responsible for his family’s death while uncovering darker secrets. Its revenge-driven story supports escalating fights, while skill progression, weapons, finishers, counters, and arena challenges add depth to the combat and reinforce its mature tone.

Acts of Blood turns hand-to-hand fighting into the main attraction, with punches, kicks, grapples, counters, dodges, weapons, and finishers shaping each encounter. A skill tree adds progression, while arena mode offers wave-based fights for players who want to test their moves. The combat is easy to understand but rewards timing and positioning, giving the experience more depth than a basic beat-'em-up loop.

What makes the game worth playing

The story follows Hendra as he pursues those responsible for his family's murder, uncovering a wider criminal conspiracy along the way. That revenge setup keeps the action focused, while different enemy types, boss encounters, and weapon options prevent every fight from feeling identical. The demo also includes outfit customization and achievements, though its limited story content may leave players wanting more. Compared with Sifu, it is less demanding but more straightforward.

Performance has improved through updates, including combat responsiveness, enemy AI, optimization, collision fixes, and smoother movement. Usability is also better after changes to controls and menus, although bugs have not disappeared entirely, and some systems are still being refined. Because the full game remains unreleased, the current demo is best viewed as a promising sample rather than a complete experience. Its mature violence also narrows its audience.

A promising revenge game worth watching

Acts of Blood offers satisfying close-range combat, a focused revenge story, varied enemies, skill progression, and arena challenges. Its improving performance and responsive mechanics make the demo worth trying for adults who enjoy brutal action games. However, limited story content, remaining bugs, and the unfinished state prevent it from being a complete must-have yet. Players seeking straightforward, aggressive combat should keep this one on their radar.
