Suzerain is a text-based narrative role-playing game developed by Torpor Games. Set in an alternate reality of the 1950s, the game puts players in the role of the President of Sordland. As the president, players can make political, moral, or pragmatic choices while also juggling the responsibilities of being a father and husband.
The game's main focus is to create a realistic and engaging story that explores power relationships, difficult decisions, and their consequences. The interactive conversation system is the core gameplay element, allowing players to engage in multi-conversant conversations that shape the course of the game. Other mechanics, such as factions, budget, constructions, countries, news, situations, and policies, further influence and react to player choices.
Suzerain tackles complex topics like security, economics, and freedoms, allowing players to reflect their own views through their decisions as the President. The game offers an immersive experience that raises questions about the intricacies of politics and the motivations behind certain actions.
