Battle arenas and battle royale games have a nasty tendency to run on a pay-to-win multiplayer module. Star Wars: Hunters is purely play to win. While there are assorted in-app purchases and microtransactions, none of these stops you from being able to play the game if you don't pay. You can buy skins for your character and their weapons, but there aren't any assets you can buy that will make you play better.
Graphics
When you first launch the game, Star Wars: Hunters is a visually impressive mobile battle arena game. The models for the characters are well-made and expertly textured, and overall the environment is highly detailed. From first impressions, it looks similar to a console game.
It's only once you start moving around that you notice inconsistencies and issues with the graphics. The animations leave much to be desired. It's almost impossible for your character to turn around quickly enough. The way that the camera moves is also a little too static for this kind of battle arena game.
Gameplay
While fans of the Star Wars franchise will certainly enjoy this latest adaptation of the cinematic universe, the lack of depth of the characters used in the game leaves the entire experience feeling slightly one-dimensional. Short of engaging in the battle against or alongside your friends, there’s no real depth.
The game's maps are fairly small, which is good for any battle arena game. It means no matter where you are on the map, you’re never far away from enemies and friends. This also means that there are few dull moments. Even with the lack of depth, the gameplay is still exciting, as far as battle arenas go.
A capable battle arena
Star Wars: Hunters is a great option for those looking for an authentic battle arena experience. While there are improvements that could be made to the graphics and the general feel of the game, it performs well for the purpose for which it was created.
Don't expect to get ahead by paying your way through the game, as Star Wars: Hunters is more focused on creating an exciting and challenging battle royale experience for all players.
