The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle Earth II is a 2021 real time strategy role-playing video game released and developed by Electronic Arts. It is set in Middle Earth, a fictional place based in Middle Earth LotR, the Ring of the Three Rings. It is largely based on the first three books of the Lord of the Ring and its three live-action films adaptation. The game is developed around these themes and has many elements similar to the LOTR films.
In this battle, the player controls most aspects of the game through the keyboard or a mouse and a few special effects by using the Xbox Live Arcade controller. The action takes place mostly in the Shire, a magical Middle Earth, located somewhere between the events of The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers. The player takes control of a king or queen who is leading his/her people through a field toward a quest against the Dark Lord Sauron. The player can choose to follow the Deionar, an elvish scout, Orcs, Dwarves, Men and maidens as he tries to defeat the enemy forces and reach the alliance of the Westland forces with the help of their new king, Baelgolt. Other non-player characters include a King Heidrek, a merchant, Deidar and a Thoren, a Wise Man.
Although there are other races to join the battle against the Dark Lord Sauron like the Hobbits, the elves and the wizards, the main playable characters are the three noble families of Middle Earth i.e. the elves, the hobbits and the humans. The players take a roll playing as one of these heroic characters and the computer or the video games allows them to make decisions regarding the strategies and the action during the battle. The online action is quite fast and the video game offers many benefits and great enjoyment and the best part about it is that the video games of LOTR: The Battle for Middle Earth II are available free of charge!
