Call of Duty: Vanguard marks a return to the World War II setting for the franchise, offering a fresh storyline and innovative gameplay. The game introduces new characters and is set against the backdrop of pivotal WWII battles across various theaters, including Europe, the Pacific, and North Africa. With the addition of the Champion Hill mode, Vanguard combines elements from popular games like Counter-Strike and Apex Legends, providing a unique 2V2 arena experience alongside traditional multiplayer modes. Players can also engage in cooperative Zombie mode, enhancing the overall gameplay variety.
Vanguard features 20 multiplayer maps, allowing for extensive online play. The integration with Call of Duty: Warzone enables players to utilize weapons and operators across both titles, enhancing progression. However, some mechanics, particularly in the 2X2 battles, may lead to a less engaging experience due to camping strategies. Despite some minor drawbacks, Vanguard offers an entertaining and action-packed experience, making it a worthy addition to the Call of Duty series.
