A simple shoot 'em up game

Chicken Invaders by Interaction Studios is a straightforward fixed shooter game where you defend the Earth from an invasion of space chickens. It features goofy graphics and audio that evoke the feeling of old arcade titles on your PC.
An engaging premise
Chicken Invaders takes the premise of classic Space Invaders games and puts a fun twist to it. In this game, you're a spaceship pilot with the formidable task of saving the world.
During your gameplay, you'll take on waves of chickens and asteroids coming to seek revenge for the previous wave you abolished.
Gameplay
This game takes a simple approach to the gameplay, mimicking vertical arcade shooters such as Turbo Forge and Space Bomber, but with even less flexibility.
You can only move your spaceship right and left, and the enemies take up the upper half of your screen. If they hit you with an egg, you lose a life. When you kill them, they drop a drumstick, which you can collect for power-ups and points.
The only way to upgrade in this game is through power-ups, so you can change or upgrade your weapon, at least before you lose your next life.
The whole sequence repeats itself ten times before you face the boss encounter: a single, massive chicken. You'll have to take it out and begin again, but with even more challenging opponents.
Controls
Just as the gameplay, the controls are simple to grasp. You use arrow keys to move, shift to fire, and control to shoot missiles. The game doesn't let you change any of these.
Graphics
While the visuals are far from cutting-edge, they are quite creative and add a lighthearted effect to the game. The soundtrack can get repetitive, but in its core, it adds to the gameplay.
Sometimes addictive, sometimes repetitive
The only real issue with this game is its repetitive nature. You only face three types of enemies. The ten waves grow stronger but don't change much. Also, your skills can't significantly improve over its course. However, the gameplay can be quite addictive, making this free title worth the shot.
