Free educational app for kids

Applaydu by Kinder for Android is a free educational game app with lots of activities suitable for kids from three to nine years old. While some apps created by large companies are clearly just another marketing gimmick, however, the developers of Kinder’s Applaydu has put a great deal of thought into adding real value for its users.
With the augmented reality (AR) feature, you have an app for the digital age that enhances kids’ fun and education without distracting them. But of course, this also creates an incentive to buy more Kinder Surprise Eggs. We think that taking the Kinder Suprise Egg treats and integrating them into an educational app is a smart move, with exciting elements like Wordscapes.
Does Applaydu have in-app purchases?
No, there are no in-app purchases at all. What makes it even better is the fact that there aren’t any adverts either.
The only purchase related to Applaydu is buying Kinder Surprise eggs for the toys, which you can then bring to life with AR. Unlike in-app purchases, you’ve got something tangible to show for your money with these real-life toys.
Is Applaydu safe?
Yes, and it’s been certified by the kidSAFE Seal Program.
As well as being ad-free, the whole app can be used without an internet connection. You can relax while your kids are having fun, knowing they’re completely protected.
There’s also a PIN-protected parent zone with security and access settings, as well as progress-tracking reports.
What can you do with Applaydu?
Applaydu has eleven games which include racing, dressing up, puzzles and animal games.
You and your child can create stories together which can be saved—ideal for developing your child’s creativity, and lovely bedtime reading.
Another one of the fun features is bringing Kinder toys to life in augmented reality. On the instruction leaflet that comes with Kinder Surprise toys, there’s a QR code. Scan the code with your phone and watch your new friend roam around in front of you.
Who’s it suitable for?
There are three age-appropriate difficulty levels for the educational games and puzzles: 3 years, 4-6 years and 7-9 years.
When you start the app, you’re asked to choose which difficulty level you would like to use. If you have more than one child but only one Android device, you can log in to the app’s parent zone and create additional profiles.
Fun education
Applaydu is beautifully designed, with bright colours, fun animations and gameplay that teaches and entertains. Kids Educational Game 5 is an alternative app with a similar aesthetic, but it doesn’t have the augmented reality feature.
We particularly like the option to play offline, increasing security and extending your device’s battery life.
It’s a perfect example of ‘edutainment’—keeping kids entertained while also assisting their development. Definitely worth downloading to enter the imaginative world of Applaydu.
