Free File Keeper
DragQueen allows you to keep important files in an easy to reach place for when you need them. The scope of DragQueen is small but useful. Essentially, it gives you a dedicated area on your screen which serves as the "dropzone". Files can be dragged into the dropzone for ease of access at any time. Files are displayed with icons and filenames, so you can easily tell which file is which, and are accompanied by one-click icons to either open the file or remove it from the dropzone. A handy display at the bottom of the dropzone lets you know how large the collective files in the dropzone are. You can drag files from any application that supports file drag and drop. You can set the dropzone to be always on top.
DragQueen is undoubtedly useful and free, which is a nice combination. However, it would benefit from additional features. It would be nice to be able to drag webpages directly, rather than copying URLs. Additionally, longer filenames are truncated, making it difficult to tell which file is which in some cases.
