A VPN client app
Cisco is a popular virtual private network (VPN) provider, and their VPN client is an app for taking advantage of these VPNs. With the client, you can establish a stable connection to remote systems with safety guaranteed.
Cisco, best-known for their Anyconnect, have put out the VPN Client as another solution for establishing a virtual private network. It is an excellent solution for remotely connecting to admin systems and office networks.
Secure and simple
This program is free and quite simple. After installation, all you need to do is load a profile related to the VPN network you wish to use by clicking the 'Import' button.
While not as quick as ExpressVPN, Cisco connects in seconds. Then, it allows for several configuration options.
You can use 'Modify' to tweak the connection settings, and 'New' to set up a new profile.
There is also a button for disconnecting, but here, the program slightly wavers. The disconnection may take several minutes.
While running on your PC, Cisco establishes and maintains a secure connection. It can connect to any VPN network supported. Like Wippien, it sets up a direct connection between PCs.
To ensure security, Cisco VPN Client supports several personal firewalls, including BlackIce Defender and ZoneAlarm. It can also detect the firewalls of other PCs on the same network and prevent them from connecting if the protection isn't active.
Once you have the program installed, you can activate the auto-update feature to download latest additions to it securely.
While it doesn't feature a double authentication function, Cisco VPN Connect is quite safe, as long as you're connecting to networks you know aren't malicious.
Just like with Freelan and other cross-platform alternatives, you can run this client across operating systems, on Windows, Mac, and Linux.
Stable
Cisco’s VPN Client allows you secure mobility, no matter where you’re headed. Its features aren’t the most sophisticated or quickest out there, but overall, this bundle is stable and does what it promises quite well. If you don’t mind the fact it could be faster, it’s the ideal solution.
