Keep an eye out for traitors in this survival game
The Walking Dead: Betrayal is a premium adventure game that’s based on the popular comic book and TV series. Much like the premise of the franchise, players will have to team up with others in order to survive this post-apocalyptic wasteland. The Walking Dead: Betrayal allows you to join teams of up to eight players and collaborate with each other to complete tasks and gather resources. Keep in mind, though, that the game is still under development as an early-access title, so improvements and additional content will be released over time.
The core premise of The Walking Dead: Betrayal revolves around cooperation and deception. As previously mentioned, you will have to join groups of five to eight people in a co-op setup. However, while working together can be the easiest solution, you’ll have to be wary of traitors among you, as well. What sets this game apart is the plethora of creative options the traitors have at their disposal to disrupt the team's progress. It's a constant battle of wits as the Walkers—although relentless—become the least predictable threat. The proximity-based voice chat adds an immersive layer to the gameplay, allowing players to communicate with others nearby. Additionally, text chat and emotes provide alternative means of communication, ensuring that players stay connected. Beyond teamwork and communication, resource management plays a vital role in the game. Venturing out from the Safe Zone to scavenge for resources, complete objectives, craft weapons, and cook food adds depth to the gameplay. However, inventory space is limited, forcing players to make strategic decisions. Moreover, players have the ability to customize their characters with cosmetics and other accessories that they can purchase with in-game currency. One notable downside, though, is the frequency of unresponsive actions, especially when engaging in combat.
