sorsemovement is a free arcade game with gauntlet elements that combines several mechanics from similar titles. You’ll find different levels with mazes that you’ll need to pass through, using various movement mechanics to find your way around. Other arcade titles with the same entertainment value include Zuma and Shark Attack.

There are two maps to complete, but you’ll also have a sandbox mode to roll around as you wish. The gauntlet has a tutorial mode to show you how the controls work and overcome most obstacles. The name ‘sorsemovement’ is a placeholder for a future title to be determined by the developer.

Arcade entertainment

Running a gauntlet can be fun at the best of times. The currently-named game sorsemovement takes inspiration from games like Half Life, Team Fortress 2, Apex Legends, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Titanfall. You’ll play across different sections in the maze-like arena, while the graphics aren’t as clear as these AAA titles.

The perspective is first-person, and you’ll accelerate in a linear motion through the arena. It gives you ideas for how PvP matches would play in these types of scenarios, while there’s an action soundtrack in the background. You’ll also see plenty of neon colours on the walls and barriers, with tiny writing on some of them if you pay close attention.

Movement options

There’s a multitude of actions you can use in sorsemovement. Some of the more common ones include walking, sliding, crouching, wall-running, wall-jumping, wall-kicking, trimping, lurching, tap strafing, surfing and momentum shifts. Of course, it depends on how many you can pull off while flying at a fast speed. 

Various modes

Besides the two maps, you also have a gauntlet tutorial and sandbox. The first one shows you the ropes while the second mode gives you the freedom to roam as you wish. Finally, you can join the Discord channel to join other players in speed runs.

sorsemovement is an incredible action game that dares you to soar at full speed while interacting with objects along the way. You can avoid specific objects easily at times, but other items require you to be more creative.

Of all the elements, the colour and music are the most appealing. You’ll love all the enjoyable scenes along the way.
