Free Alarm Clock
Free Alarm Clock is a free, feature rich and user-friendly alarm clock for the Windows platform. It allows you to set as many alarms as you want to; you can set one-time alarms or repeating alarms. It lets you label different alarms to indicate activities you must do at the sound of the alarm. After you set the time and sound for each alarm, you can use a text field to write a note to yourself as a reminder about the alarm's purpose, i.e. 'Get up and surf the net for a new car'. KEY FEATURES INCLUDE: Plays MP3 music files. Wakes up your system from a Sleep mode. Turns on the volume. Run it from a portable USB flash drive. Free Alarm Clock is a neat little application with a few useful features, such as the ability to play MP3 files as the sound you wake up to. Free Alarm Clock comes with several tones and offers full access to your music library. There is also the ability to wake from sleep mode. You can also set Free Alarm Clock to turn on the volume automatically if you have it on mute accidentally. When the alarm is activated, the software can turn up the volume of Windows forcefully. Overall, as far as alarm clocks go, Free Alarm Clock is not a bad choice to go with. It has a few neat tricks up its sleeve and a nice interface to boot.

This is useful for scheduling your computer to shut down, log off, restart, sleep, and close power at any time you need. Key Features include: Simple User interface. WinSleep is a handy little app that keeps your computer asleep as much as possible during periods, which you can specify. It provides you with a detailed time-line graph that shows when your computer was awake, asleep, or hibernating. A typical desktop uses 250 watts of electricity when awake, but only a few watts while asleep. Power companies (in the US) may bill at (approx) 10 cents per kWH. This is .25 kWH @ 10 cents = 2.5 cents/hr you are saving while asleep.
