How Passfinder Works to Help Us to Manage Secure Passwords on Our Computers
Passfinder is a free password manager application developed by B. Vormba, a famous German computer programmer. It enables its users to design and manage passwords for different systems and applications with the help of a database. It makes use of the cryptosystem Kerckhoffs function to generate a secure and complex password that cannot be easily decrypted. The Passfinder software can be installed from a Windows CD or a DVD. The Passfinder software allows the user to choose a good Passfinder edition according to the requirements of his or her system.
One of the ways through which Passfinder helps us manage secure passwords on the computers is the implementation of what is called the brute force attack. With the help of this pathfinder, we are able to crack a random password by using only a few bits as a salt value and comparing it with an existing password stored in the PC. If the two match then the new one is added to the current password. This way, even if we use a very simple password that is not very difficult to guess, we are able to crack more difficult pass words. With the Passfinder password manager, cracking a password using brute force attack becomes extremely hard and practically impossible.
Passfinder also enables its users to create a custom authentication dictionary that contains different lists of commonly used keywords. Whenever the user types a keyword, the Passfinder database will search from the dictionary and try to match with the given password. If the two match, then the user is allowed to proceed to the next inputting a password. This way, Passfinder helps us to manage secure passwords on our computers and also to increase the security of our systems by strengthening the security of the login field.
