Horror Tale 2: Samantha is a free horror adventure game that Euphoria Horror Games developed for Android devices. Like other titles in the genre, such as CASE Animatronics Horror Game and The True Ingredients Game, you need to use your wits and skill to survive. Therefore, your gameplay is geared towards solving puzzles and escaping.
The action continues the sequences from its predecessor, Horror Tale 1: Kidnapper. In this case, you need to solve the enigma of children vanishing from Lakewitch. Your character and Samantha are in prison and must get out and survive.
Clever puzzles and enigmas
Horror Tale 2: Samantha has a lot of interesting gameplay elements, especially for an Android game. Possible actions are displayed on-screen as buttons, so you’re never left wondering what to do.
The different actions you can do allow for some interesting puzzle-solving and investigating. This is in contrast to other games, where the action is based mostly on escaping and some basic interactions with the environment.
Excellent graphics
Horror Tale 2: Samantha has impressive visuals. The characters look fantastic, as does the environment. Graphics are beautifully drawn, and some things, like school desks, have a very distinctive hand-drawn style. There are polished lighting effects, good animations, and a tense atmosphere.
However, because of the graphical quality, some issues might arise on different smartphones, such as lagging and low frame rates. This is not only an aesthetic issue because, in such situations, you might also get caught by your opponent.
A solid addition to the franchise
Horror Tale 2: Samantha is an excellent continuation of Horror Tale. Since Horror Tale is an episodic series, any Horror Tale fan would likely be an instant fan of this one. But even if you haven’t played the original, this game offers a solid gameplay experience to get you started.
The plot’s also exciting, and most players can’t wait for Part 3 after finishing this iteration. The gameplay is also excellent, and a step above most horror games for Android. The only issue is that the game doesn’t work too well on some mobile devices. Hopefully, the developer will address these issues in due course.
