DUST CITY is a free 3D game that lets you explore a mysterious city that recently appeared within a crater. As you play, you'll find anomalies and other answers to the strange phenomena. However, the retro graphics feel immersive as the dated atmosphere adds to the ruined area.
The world of DUST CITY isn't as large as popular games created by well-known studios. However, it’s enough to confuse you as you explore the ruined remains of a town that suddenly appeared. You must venture out and investigate a city that's filled with psychic and other odd artefacts and discover why it's suddenly appeared.
As you explore the city within the crater, you'll stumble across anomalies and artefacts that need decoding. Clicking your left mouse button will begin the decryption process and reveal more information about what the ruins are and why they’re there.
Pen and paper not included
To begin your journey, you'll need three main components. A standard-issue Esotech Arcanodex 5, a pen and paper, and Level 3 magical protection are your tools required. You'll need the notebook and pencil or other stationery as decrypting artefacts reveal secrets you need to remember later.
Alternatively, you can create a folder with screenshots and switch tabs as the title progresses. However, in summary, this is tedious and takes longer than writing notes with a pen and a piece of paper.
DUST CITY uses an ancient graphics style that’s exceptionally nostalgic if you've played any of the first 3D games. These graphics also immerse you in this ruined area and wasteland-like landscape as you find many bizarre-looking anomalies. The title is in full 3D, requiring you to watch your surroundings for anything that's lurking in the shadows. The retro graphics make this game ideal for computers with low system specs.
The city hasn't existed for more than 12 hours before you begin to discover its secrets in this independently developed game. DUST CITY is much like other indie passion projects, such as Anatomy and Actias. The game's main goal is exploration, but it can quickly become a fearful adventure due to the nature of the artefacts.
