Blackshot is a massively multiplayer browser-based first-person shooter (FPS) game under development by Korean game developer Vertigo Games, exclusively for Microsoft Windows operating systems. It has received much critical acclaim from PC gaming magazines and websites, which have awarded it a 'Best Choice' designation, for its use of advanced technology that allows for immense real-time interaction between the game's players (called "spectators") and the game's artificial intelligence/artificial intelligence system (also known as VASAF). Blackshot utilizes the new VASAF technology, which allows for the game to create and interact with multiple worlds using a single server. With the help of this single server, the game is able to create a dynamic experience, with every match being different and having various outcomes. This means that gamers are not stuck within a single map with only one outcome - but can instead travel to a series of different maps, battling their enemies and going up against all sorts of obstacles along the way.

With VASAF, the developers at Vertigo Games have been able to achieve this through the use of what they call "server-side scripting". Basically, this means that the game is able to create and run its own code that controls virtually all aspects of its online first-person shooter games, including its characters, game modes, game play, graphics and more. A unique feature that makes use of this scripting technology is that it allows the developers to create entirely separate maps for each user, which then load in when the gamer wants to play. As such, gamers do not need to download any additional software or plug-ins to be able to enjoy the game, because it will already be "loaded and running" on their system.
