Genshin Impact is a free cross-platform adventure and exploration game with a gacha mechanic. The Android title is free-to-play, but it has pay-to-win systems that may turn casual players away. However, the gameplay rivals the well-acclaimed Breath of the Wild for Nintendo consoles.
Massive World
Genshin Impact contains an open-world experience, letting you travel through its steep mountains and open plains as you encounter enemies and find treasure chests. Any obstacle you face is climbable; once you’ve reached the peak, jump off and activate your glider for aerial mobility. Additionally, you can swim across lakes as long as you have enough stamina to reach the end before drowning.
Many Characters
Genshin Impact has a wide selection of characters to choose from, with many useful ones given to you through the completion of quests. However, the best ones on the tier-list are 5-stars. However, you’ll only earn those by summoning them from the gacha banner at a 5% rate.
Multiplayer
Genshin Impact lets players join friends on any platform with limited multiplayer features available in-game. Currently, the limitations prevent you from connecting to friends that have a higher world level, doing quests, and advancing through dungeons. However, you can connect to friends and explore the world or complete daily tasks together.
Events
As Genshin Impact is a gacha-based game with many elements from the genre, it receives events and updates on a regular and scheduled basis. This news allows you to plan your playtime and gain the most rewards quickly. Additionally, logging into the game daily can reward you with the gems needed to summon a new character.
Story
Genshin Impact’s story requires a lot of playtime; you’ll need to level up many times before each series of quests is unlocked. However, this is worthwhile as the characters are enjoyable, and the tale is engaging. There are also many books you can collect to learn more about the world.
Genshin Impact provides many opportunities to its players, much like Honkai Impact, a non-related game developed by miHoYo. Unlike other gacha titles on mobile, such as Fate/Grand Order, you receive a guaranteed 5-star character once you reach the required amount of ‘pulls’ to earn ‘pity’ with that banner.
