Charlie Monroe is the creator of the iPhone app, Downie. Prior to this release, he was the engineer behind the hit app, Ubergrounds, which allowed users to connect their iPhones to transportation services in major cities across the United States. He has since then taken the idea to the development stage of an iPhone and cellular app, called Downie. Although there aren't many apps of this kind available for the iPhone, it appears that Downie could become one of the most popular applications for the device thanks to the great user experience it offers.
With the current version of Apple's mobile operating system, iOS, there is no doubt that the company has made it easier for consumers to interact with their devices in new ways. For example, with the introduction of the Game Center, which allows users to play games on their iPhones, the overall user experience has been changed for the better. The ability to play games, as well as access the Game Center, has been combined into one application, making the device easier to use while simultaneously offering a multitude of different features. However, App creator extraordinaire Downie has found another way to make his iPhone even easier to use in other ways.
In addition to being a useful multi-tasking tool, the iPhone's multi-touch interface also makes it easy for app developers to add video recording capabilities to their applications. App buyers can tap into their Mac laptop to upload the clips they like to their iPhone. In doing so, the Mac laptop becomes a mini tripod, allowing the owner to take their video wherever they go without losing everything in the process. Thanks to a newly released Mac video downloader called Downie, this functionality is now available to all those who have an iOS device.
