Crazy Taxi Classic is a series of high speed, beat 'em up video games, which was originally released by SEGA. As the name suggests, you take the role of an old taxi driver who has to make his way through all sorts of obstacles on his way to deliver passengers to their destined destinations safely. The game controls are simple, using the left and right buttons to move the vehicle and the left and right arrows to view the course. There are two modes available in this game, Story mode and Time trial mode, where the objective is to complete the level within the given time.
SEGA created this crazy taxi classic game as a follow up to the successful Mega Man series, and it is quite a fun release to look back on. The unique control scheme, the great level of variety, the nice story and fine sound effects, everything just fits into this one game. However, despite the pretty background, it doesn't feel too interactive. The controls are tight and you will need to put in quite a bit of effort to get your vehicle moving, while the rest of the controls take care of themselves thanks to some nicely designed effects. It's not very realistic, but for the most part, this game is one of the most fun online versions available for mobile devices, with plenty of content for both hardcore players and newcomers alike.
If you've ever played the original Crazy Taxi game, you'll be right at home with this version. The story is the same, just as it was in that earlier game - only it's been ported to mobile gaming. In fact, the level of detail is even more incredible than the original. There are more vehicles to encounter, many of them on fire, and the environments are simply drawn out greater than they were in the arcade version. The story line is funny and entertaining, while still maintaining a light hearted tone throughout. You can't help but smile when you're playing this, because it's often funny to watch hapless taxi drivers try their luck against some of the more bizarre obstacles.
