AssaultCube: Free Multiplayer Role Playing Shoot-em-up

AssaultCube is a fast and furious first-person shooter that plunges you into a world of villains and thugs gone mad. Formerly known as ActionCube, this free game is based on the game Cube. While the graphics may not be on par with Grand Theft Auto, the developers have done a decent job considering it's a free game. The graphics are designed in a way that allows for smooth gameplay even on a 56K modem, and on a broadband connection, you won't experience any lag. AssaultCube is also cross-platform compatible, making it suitable for both Mac and PC users to engage in multiplayer chaos. There is no specific mission, just join a public server, team up with other players, and annihilate your opponents. If you're looking for more competition, there are leagues and cups available where the top players are determined by the number of kills. While AssaultCube is a solid free role-playing shoot-em-up, it does suffer from a limited range of graphics and level scenarios, which can become monotonous over time.
