An International Space Station tracking tool

ISSTracker is a single-page web app that lets you track paths and view past and future orbits of the International Space Station in real-time. The application is information-packed and easy to use for people with experience in the field.

Get informed about space

People have always been fascinated by space. While not everybody can be astronauts, everybody can now track the ISS and get a good look of Earth from their perspective through handy software and web apps.

You can go for a mobile application such as ISS Detector that sends notifications to your mobile. Alternatively, ISSTracker serves the same purpose through a single web page.

Straightforward UI

The looks of this programme are as straightforward as its design. It enables you to track the location, namely, the latitude, longitude, and altitude, of the Station.

If you're familiar with the topic, you'll find the UI easy to navigate. However, the page contains a lot of language and measurements that only the informed will understand.

Otherwise, using it is as simple as inputting the date and time of a launch you're searching. Several extra features, including adjustable durations of flight paths and the ability to zoom in and out while viewing the map add to the handiness.

You can also switch between Metric and Imperial measurement units. There are three Google Map types for you to view: terrain, satellite, and hybrid. You'll see though, there is no support for Daylight Maps.

Further adjustability

Apart from the main page, you will find an extra one that holds additional features: adjustable durations of the orbital path, historical locations, and sightings.

Through these functions, you can even determine when it'll be possible to see the ISS from the ground at your location.

Efficient and educational

This tool is fantastic for space enthusiasts who want to keep track of the Station's activities. Unfortunately, it doesn't offer a lot to an average user, as it requires knowledge in the field. The Orbitrack app is much more user-friendly in that regard, but if you have a higher level of understanding, ISSTracker is as informative and straightforward as it gets.
