Winamp is a free multimedia player that syncs with all your media needs. It supports a vast array of content and allows you to stream efficiently from the internet.
User Interface
The aging Winamp still has a decent user interface available. It may feel dated, but the programme hasn’t been updated in some time. Although it’s easily changeable, the interface lacks some of the more modern options available like syncing to Spotify.
Features available
The application provides a great platform for combining all of your music. The software can be synced to iTunes. Beyond that, it is great for ripping your CDs onto your computer. It also allows you to scan the web for new music to download. However, one problem is the app no longer can tag your music automatically, making it easy to lose files.
Plugins galore
To make up for the fact Winamp has not been upgraded for a long time; plugins help keep the programme updated. This makes a variety of tasks like importing iTunes playlists to transferring all your songs from other apps possible with this application.
Holdover from a different time
If you are looking for a media player, Winamp is a decent option especially if you like to personalise everything. However, the app hasn’t been updated for a long time, and VLC is probably a better choice.
