NeoOffice for Mac

NeoOffice is a welcome open source alternative to the pricier Microsoft Office and iWork office suites. It offers all the applications you would expect, including word processing, spreadsheet, presentations, database, and drawing. The interface and range of tools in NeoOffice are very similar to what you would find in Microsoft Office, but NeoOffice loads up much faster when opening any document. Most tools open in a new window, so it's important not to have too many open to avoid a cluttered interface.

All the different applications in the NeoOffice suite work well and are worthy replacements for the options available in Microsoft Office and iWork '08. The only disappointment is the presentation tool, which lacks templates and tools to create a shiny, professional presentation. However, NeoOffice compensates for this with thorough help docs and excellent wizards to master all elements of the suite.

Although the presentation tool is a little weak, the rest of the applications in NeoOffice make for a very good free office suite.
