The only issue that we can see, is that because it is so easy to setup, it doesn't have the security features for this to be used as a production server. Transmission is a simple BitTorrent client for MacOS X, giving users everything they need to download torrents fast. While Transmission doesn't boast complex advanced features, it functions perfectly well as a compact and highly usable client with virtually no learning curve. On install, Transmission will function on most Macs without any system tweaking, making it ideal for the novice user. Its developers boast that it has an extremely low memory footprint, so most OS X users should be able to let it run in the background without worrying about system performance. Transmission is also available as a Linux application. It's actually bundled with Ubuntu, although it's available for most Unix distributions. VLC Media Player is the most popular and robust multi format, free media player available. WhatsApp Messenger for Mac

WhatsApp for Mac is a renowned messaging service that has been around for some time now. Although you can use it on the web, WhatsApp for Mac has launched a desktop app for both Windows and Mac OS X platforms. This new desktop version of the app will be great for some users, as it no longer needs to take up space in your web browser. The new app basically works as an extension of your phone; it mirrors messages and conversations from your device. Using the desktop version of the app comes with advantages including proper native desktop notifications and better keyboard shortcuts.
