Her Tears Were My Light is a Visual Novel Review

I'm going to start this particular story with a review on the visual novel, "Nami". This visual novel is based off of the Japanese myth of the Amuro Buruka, which is told from the point of view of a young girl who is cast into hell because her parents decide she must stay there to at least one more year to live out her destiny. Nami then has to go through three different endings involving her having love with her fellow spirit, being thrown off a mountain, having to find the one person that will help her escape, and finally dying while trying to save another soul. Each of these endings has their own reasons behind them and also their own emotional triggers that have been revealed through the actions of the protagonist, Nami. Although all of these endings are emotional and based around the different emotions of the game, it does have its fair share of fan fiction, as well.
With the first ending in a place you take a look at Nami's situation after she finds out her parents died, and that the only way she can get back to heaven is to throw herself at God. This is an extreme act that not only costs Nami her life but also completely changes the flow of events in the visual novel. One of the main things I love about this ending is the fact that it ties into the second ending. Although the second ending doesn't have anything to do with God, it does have a lot to do with Nanoreno and unlocking the true path to salvation, regardless of the religious affiliation.
There are also a few other endings that could be described as mild horror elements, that will give you a good laugh. This was one short love story about time and space that had very good writing in it. I would recommend checking out the rest of the story to find out what happens.
