Flatten your folder hierarchies for easier management
Screenshots
If you've got folders with lots of sub-folders and sub-files, it can soon get out of hand trying to manage them. Droffett is a drop application which "flattens" folders to make management of them easier. Droffett works by giving an alias to all files which are descendants of it so that they are brought together under one umbrella. In addition to this, Droffett can also be used to collate a folder of files by extension. This simply places all files with the same extension into a folder named after that extension such as PDF, DOC, DMG, etc. You can activate and deactivate this aspect in the Preferences.
Proceed with caution, however. You cannot "undo" anything you do with Droffett, so you are advised to make sure you have a backup of target folders before using it. All you have to do is drag and drop folders onto the Droffett Dock icon, and flattening will immediately be applied. Note that folders or files with the same name are automatically renamed by Droffett to avoid confusion, but again, you'll have to change this back manually if you haven't made a backup of your folders and decide you don't like the app.
Droffett is an interesting way to manage folders, but use it with caution.
