Beyonc Dangerously In Love - The Security Incident
Beyonce is back in the spotlight after her Mother's Day speech was lambasted on both left and right. The New Orleans incident is currently the center of a class-action lawsuit against the City of New Orleans and its Mayor Ray Nagin and other officials. The viral video of the singer performing at a New Orleans public school gym was later stolen and circulated on the internet. This has since inflamed many people to come out in support of the Parents of the fallen Hurricane Katrina children. Beyonce is now in the center of yet another controversy, this time over the privacy of her Windows operating system.
When the viral video hit the internet, it was quickly stolen by many Internet users who re-purposed it for their own use. Many individuals then uploaded the stolen Beyonce clip onto YouTube and other video sharing sites without paying Beyonce's label, which is why the song is unavailable for purchase on iTunes. While many artists have had their music videos stolen in the past, Beyonce was not one of them. Her label signed her to deal with Universal Music Group, which owns the publishing rights to her hit singles. The fact that she was not paid for this is proof that Beyonce did not have full legal rights to the music during the time of the theft.
There is a good chance that she was not even aware of her computer had been hacked into until the damage was done. Several months after the viral video went viral, Microsoft released a security update that significantly cracked down on viruses and other harmful programs that can infiltrate Windows computers. Most of the problems related to the leak can be traced back to a Trojan named Troj/Knockit-A.B.D.A..
