Bad Batch Dating Sim is a free simulation game demo for Mac that takes you on an adventure in space. Based on the Star Wars television series, you’re captured by pirates and taken off into space. There are clones on their way to rescue you, but you get to know the group and start to wonder just how bad they really are.
In the same fashion as visual novels, you’ll mostly have text to show you the story and dialogue. You’ll need to make choices along the way, which will be the deciding factor towards the various endings. If you’re into dating simulator games like this, check out Doomed Love and Haikyuu Otome.
An adventure into space
While Disney has a hold on the Star Wars franchise, there are some fans making spin-off games. Bad Batch Dating Sim is influenced by the Bad Batch TV series, but with a twist. You are the main protagonist, finding yourself captured by a group of pirates who appear to have poor intentions.
As you wait for clones to rescue you, you meet each of the crew members and get to know them. The story unfolds as you discover that they may not be as bad as they make themselves to be.
Making key choices
As with most visual novels, you’ll need to make choices along the way. There are generally around two to five questions at critical points in the game. Your decision will influence the next part of the story, and eventually one of the few endings.
Graphics and audio
The graphics are in 2D animations with a science fiction atmosphere. The text is sometimes too light to read with the black backdrop, so you may need to increase the brightness. There’s a soundtrack and some sound effects to Bad Batch Dating Sim, but no real voice acting to praise.
A science-fiction adventure
Bad Batch Dating Sim is a casual adventure sim where you’ll interact with other characters through dialogue and text choices. The graphics aren’t amazing, but it’s enough to keep you enjoying the story as it unfolds.
Of course, you’ll need to carefully choose how you want to proceed. There are save points you can create, and you may want to play it several times to see the various endings.
