Effortless RAW Image Management Tool
The Raw Image Extension is a free utility designed for Windows that enables users to access and manage raw image formats produced by various digital cameras. This extension integrates seamlessly with File Explorer, allowing users to view thumbnails and metadata of supported raw files directly. It is particularly beneficial for photographers who require quick access to high-quality images without needing a dedicated application. However, it does not support GPR formats, which may limit some users' experiences.
Once installed, the Raw Image Extension enhances the functionality of the Photos app, enabling users to view full-resolution images effortlessly. Its compatibility spans a wide range of mid- to high-end digital cameras, ensuring that most raw image formats are accessible. The extension also recently added support for CR3 files, making it even more versatile. However, it should be noted that this utility functions as an OS codec plugin rather than a standalone app, which may impact some users looking for a comprehensive image management solution.
