Apple iPhoto

Apple iPhoto was first released in 2002 and is the flagship image manipulation software for Mac users. It can be used for editing, printing and sharing digital pictures among users and is usually included as a part of the iLife Suite on Mac computers. With the help of this program users can directly import their pictures from all their scanners or digital cameras or even the internet and save them on the iPhoto Library. Most of the common image file formats are supported and the software also works with any additional plugins with most makes of digital cameras as well as scanners. Users can label, tilt, and organize their photos in ‘events’ or groups. There are also some basic image manipulation tools like red eye filters, brightness adjustments, contrast adjustments, resizing and cropping tools and a few others. The user interface for iPhoto is extremely clean, simple and user friendly program and can be used by a complete beginner. This is especially the case for the sharing features, which can convert pictures into beautiful slideshows with usic from the iTunes library as a soundtrack. These slideshows can even be shared as QuickTime movies. The users can then edit them in iMovie and iDVD can also be used to burn the files to disc. The photo albums can also be synced with iPods. Moreover, they can be viewed on televisions that support such a format and playback option. iPhoto users are even offered digital prints, cards, album volumes etc., but only in selected markets. The program is very slick and makes for an excellent photo viewer as well.

iPhoto Library Manager

iPhoto Library Manager helps you to organise all of your photos, allowing you to browse and search across all your libraries directly from one place. To avoid duplicate photos, iPhoto Library Manager lets you analyze your libraries side by side, giving you the opportunity to delete any extra copies that you don't really need. The application also enables you to merge multiple libraries into one, whilst removing duplicate photos in the process. A great feature of this application is that you can create multiple iPhoto libraries rather than storing everything in one mammoth library. Having a larger number of smaller libraries means you can archive photos that you don't use and organise the ones you use more often into categories, gaining you quicker access to the files you need, when you need them.

BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac

BlackBerry Desktop Software supports synchronization of data between your Mac and your BlackBerry smartphone, and BlackBerry tablet. Key features: Sync your contacts and appointments: Your contacts, calendar appointments, tasks and notes are all able to be synchronized with Mac apps such as Microsoft Entourage and iCal. PhotoScape X for Mac is a well presented app for viewing and editing photos. It offers a whole host of tools that make viewing your favourite pictures a lot easier. Although the user interface is basic in appearance, you do have the choice of several themes, which add a bit of colour and variety to this functional app. Once you click on an image, you can start editing straight away using common tools like Resize, Crop, Colour Adjustment, Eye Correction, Sharpen and Blur. Once you've finished editing you can then save your image in the same location or choose to save it separately. Photos can also be shared on social networks like Facebook, Twitter, Picasa and Flickr. PhotoScape X for Mac also features a GIF creation tool, which is great when you consider you don't pay a penny for this application. You can also batch edit multiple photos and merge photos to create fun collages. All in all, PhotoScape X for Mac is a very functional, photo editing app, that is a great alternative to iPhoto.

iTunes for Mac

iTunes is a free application for Mac and PC. It plays all your digital music and video. It syncs content to your iPod, iPhone, and Apple TV. And it's an entertainment superstore that stays open 24/7. iMovie

WhatsApp Messenger for Mac

WhatsApp for Mac is a renowned messaging service that has been around for some time now. Although you can use it on the web, WhatsApp for Mac has launched a desktop app for both Windows and Mac OS X platforms. This new desktop version of the app will be great for some users, as it no longer needs to take up space in your web browser. The new app basically works as an extension of your phone; it mirrors messages and conversations from your device. Using the desktop version of the app comes with advantages including proper native desktop notifications and better keyboard shortcuts. You simply need WhatsApp installed and working on your phone and Mac OS X 10.9 or later. Using the desktop version on your Mac is easy; as soon as you have downloaded and installed the app, you simply need to scan the QR code on the screen with your phone using WhatsApp (Open WhatsApp, click Menu and select WhatsApp Web). Then, as soon as it has been recognised, the desktop app will be linked with your account. It is worth noting that since the desktop app uses your mobile device to sync messages, it would probably be best to ensure that it is connected to Wi-Fi to avoid excessive data usage.
