eFootball 2022 is a special game as it ended the legendary era of Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) and became the first-ever game of the brand-new sports game series, eFootball. Konami got too much criticism over its new game but the company rolled out an update to fix the issues that damaged the game’s release. However, there is still harsh criticism over this game on Windows PCs.
eFootball 2022 replaced the legendary PES franchise
Back on July 21, 2021, Konami dropped a video that introduced us to eFootball 2022, saying goodbye to the PES name. The game came out on September 30, 2021, on a bunch of different gaming platforms like PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and more, and it's the first time they're using Unreal Engine 4. This new engine is supposed to make the game look better and play smoother.
- Using Unreal Engine 4: Means better graphics and smoother gameplay.
- Play With Anyone: You can play against friends on different devices.
- Better Control and Views: You get more control over your players and a good view of the field.
Criticism over graphics
Even with all the hype, not everyone was happy with eFootball 2022 when it first came out. A lot of the complaints were about the game's graphics. But it wasn't just how it looked; players also found issues with the game's AI and felt it was missing some depth, making it less fun to play. Konami tried to fix some of these problems with an update, but there were still many players who felt the game couldn't stack up against
, its main competitor.
Is eFootball 2022 free?
One of the most important features of eFootball 2022 is that it's free. Instead of paying upfront like with PES, anyone can download and start playing eFootball 2022 without spending a dime. If you want to add extra stuff to your game, there are in-app purchases available.
- Free to Download: No cost to start playing.
- Optional Buys: You can buy extras if you want.
This move to a free game is Konami's way of trying to attract more players, making it easier for anyone to play football online.
