Calibre is a complete e-book library manager that lets you totally organize your collection. With Calibre you can convert your books to multiple formats, and then sync with all of your devices.


  • Library management. Calibre keeps things orderly by creating single entries for books, which contain multiple formats. Calibre also adds tags and comments for better searching.
  • Format conversion. Calibre's varied conversion options give you support for a wide variety of file formats.
  • File syncing. Calibre's device drivers will support all of the top devices and e- readers.

Overall, Calibre is a free and open source e-book library management application which covers all aspects of library management, e-book conversion, e-book syncing, e-book viewing and e-book editing for the major e-book formats. The user interface is easy to understand and the application is relatively lightweight.

Content server: Allow adding and deleting of books using the web interface.
Allow removing the close button from tabs in the Virtual library tab bar. Right click the tab bar and choose 'Lock tabs' to do that.
Calibredb export: Add --progress option

Content server: When downloading books from the server send both the ASCII and full Unicode file names. Browsers that support RFC 6266 can make use of the unicode file name.
Content server: Show a warning popup on Apple devices when the user tries to search with an expression containing smart quotes, since Apple devices now automatically replace quotes with smart quotes when typing.
Bug fixes:
DOCX Output: Fix links without anchors in the input document not being converted correctly.
Calibredb: Fix a regression that broke reading of passwords from stdin.
Edit book: Fix an error when saving files with filenames that cannot be encoded using the system codepage on Windows.
Pasting metadata: Fix excluding title and authors not working.
