This sets it apart from fully-fledged photo editing apps and closer to offerings like Photo Lab Picture Editor FX, Lisa AI Art, Magic Avatar and even Photo Art - Color Effects.
In this app, you won’t find additional styles or filters. It just does what it claims to do and little more than that. Unfortunately, most of the time, it doesn’t do it very well, and it’s unclear how it creates the results.
Can’t be easier to use
TwinFACE — Selfie into Anime is one of the most accessible apps to use. You choose an image from your gallery or take a selfie, then crop it so only your face is visible. That’s all! The app will begin processing the image and give you an anime version of yourself.
If you’re satisfied with the results, you can share them on your preferred social media platforms or send them to friends and family.
Several issues
On paper, TwinFACE — Selfie into Anime seems like a great, quick way to get an anime portrait of yourself. Unfortunately, for a significant number of users, this isn’t the case. Many claim that their faces get distorted, sometimes blending in with the background. Other times, your eyes get crooked, and images are often blurry.
That’s not all. It can change your hair and eye colours, with some people claiming it just displays a random anime image instead of a facsimile of your picture.
Good idea, broken app
TwinFACE — Selfie into Anime would be an excellent way to create a virtual avatar for your social media or share it with friends if it worked as intended. Unfortunately, it’s far from doing so, according to thousands of reviews from users. It offers mostly blurred, incorrect images that have no resemblance to the original material.
Even if you’re among the lucky ones for which this app works more or less okay, the lack of features makes each try a haphazard affair. Don’t like the results? Try again! You can’t tweak, edit or modify the image in any way inside the app.
