Free health app
Smart Scales is a free health app developed by Oleksandr Mazhuga. Unlike other apps in this category, such as Petal Health, Samsung Health and Lefun Health, this software focuses more on measurements than fitness plans. These go far beyond your weight. It also includes body fluid, bone mass, metabolic rate, and more.
It works by linking to your Google Fit account, where your age, gender, height, body type and other information are used to calculate your body percentages. It then updates Google Fit with whatever new information the app receives from different devices. It sports several Yunmai Smart Scales models.
Like a lab in your pocket
Because it uses smart devices to get your data, it supports a large number of parameters. These are considerably detailed. For example, instead of a generic "fat" measurement, you can check your body fat, visceral fat and lean mass.
Besides its many parameters, you can also determine your fitness age. This biological age may or may not correspond to your actual age. The app was recently replaced with a more accurate technique, which shows the commitment of the developer.
Simple to use
With so many functions and monitoring happening, you might think that Smart Scales is difficult to use. Fortunately, this isn’t the case. You just log into Google Fit and use your smart monitoring devices as usual. The app takes care of the rest.
When it comes to the user interface, you'll be greeted with specific categories where you can check your different stats. Tapping on them lets you check your evolution and set goals. There are also graphs that let you check your progress in days, weeks or months.
Monitoring your body the easy way
Smart Scales won't offer tips on improving your health or achieving fitness goals, but it's a straightforward monitoring tool for your body. By eschewing fitness plans, exercise videos and other features, it's focused on a specific goal that works well for the most part.
That’s where it works best. Unfortunately, there are user reports where the app doesn't work correctly. For example, there are connection problems with different devices, and it only supports Yunmai devices. Otherwise, it's a solid app to check your overall health thoroughly.
