Free circular platformer for Windows

Holey Hell was developed by Daniel Linssen during Ludum Dare 48. Out of almost a thousand entrants, it ranked 54th. It’s a free downloadable game for Windows that’s light on resources, so it’s playable on any Windows 10 device.
Despite the ominous-sounding name, Holey Hell is very colourful. Every level is a different circle, which helps to differentiate between levels. It has an extremely unusual style because the levels are all circular, inspired by the circles of Hell in Dante’s Inferno. If you enjoy platform games, you can try Passing By and Brave Dog’s Road.
Is Holey Hell safe?
Yes, it is safe. There are no reports of any problems resulting from downloading it.
Downloading any app from a non-curated app store carries the risk of unwittingly downloading malware that’s been bundled with it by the site controller. As long as you download it from our referred site, you won’t have any problems.
How much does Holey Hell cost?
Nothing – it’s completely free. Unlike some independent developers who give you the choice of making a voluntary payment, the creator of Holey Hell, Daniel Linssen, doesn’t even do that.
Is Holey Hell a platformer?
Yes, essentially, it is. It’s a platformer with a difference, though. Instead of the usual horizontal and/or vertical scrolling, in Holey Hell, you have to beat circular levels.
How do you play Holey Hell?
You run around the undulating circles of Hell, collecting a key in each one in order to progress the next level, which is smaller and deeper.
You’ll have to dodge spikes rising from the circle perimeter, white globules being spat out from the circle’s edges. The dangers are air-borne, too. You’ll need to time your run perfectly to avoid rockets, ships, birds, and jumping frogs.
Grab the key, return to the door, and you’ll enter the next level, which is a smaller circle, so the obstacles are closer together, and there’s less room to manoeuvre.
The keyboard controls are simple. Cursor keys to go left or right, and the spacebar to jump.
First circular platformer of its kind
We’ve never come across a circular platformer before. In fact, it’s almost a contradiction in terms, but essentially, that’s what Holey Hell is.
Even though you’re jumping through endless circles of hell, you only get five lives, so you’ll have to be quick and time your running and jumping to perfection.
In our opinion, there’s no reason not to download Holey Hell, because it's a lot of fun, it only takes up 2.5Mb on your computer, and it is totally free to play.
