Express Talk is a VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) solution that works through Windows and is easy to use. When you first purchase Express Talk, you will be prompted to download the software. Then you can install it by clicking on the "start" button on your computer. You will also receive download links on that same page. Once you have installed and configured Express Talk, follow the on-screen instructions to configure your microphone settings.
To make calls through Windows to any Canada or US landline or mobile phone, you need to have an adapter that is USB. The Express Talk softphone works like a regular telephone, with a single adapter that needs to plugged into a power source. For a residential telephone set up, a high-quality telephone adapter is needed. For an office telephone set up, you only need a high-quality adapter, not an Express Talk softphone. Some residential phone systems do not need a telephone adapter, but these systems may come with a default adapter that will allow you to make local calls. Some other office telephone sets only need a high-quality adapter to connect to the VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) network.
If you want to make calls from your computer to Canada or the US, you can connect your Express Talk softphone to a voip gateway provider. Providers of this kind usually provide toll free numbers that you can use with your computer for international calls. It is also possible to connect your computer to your VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) network so that you can make calls to anywhere in the world. Using a voip gateway provider, makes it so easy to dial any part of the world that you want - even if you only have a high-speed internet connection.
