DynoMeter: A Comprehensive Vehicle Performance Measurement App
DynoMeter is an Android app developed by bw-Softwaretechnik that enables users to measure the performance of their vehicles. The app offers a wide range of features, including top speed measurement, elasticity measurement, and timing for 1/4 and 1/8 mile runs. DynoMeter uses the acceleration of the vehicle to calculate the speed between GPS updates, ensuring accurate results. The app also includes a local database that allows users to view results after each test run, individually for every vehicle profile.
The app displays actual speed in mph or km/h using GPS/OBD and the acceleration sensor of the user's phone. Additionally, the app alerts users with acoustic signals when the test run is started or stopped. Failed test runs can be deleted, and the app allows for the use of OBD-II ELM327 Dongle Bluetooth to read the speed. The app uses GPS/OBD and the acceleration sensor simultaneously for high precision in time measurements.
