Free social network app
CloutHub is a newer social media network that bills itself as an alternative to other well-known social platforms. It promotes free speech, values user privacy, and seeks to let its members make a meaningful impact on their respective social communities.
With established social networks coming under fire for routinely allowing misinformation to spread, there’s a wave of new social media apps rising to take their place. Apps like MeWe, Gab, and now CloutHub have appeared to challenge the preconceptions of what a social platform is capable of.
A new network
The principal, rather pointed difference that an app like CloutHub makes is that it’s a “non-biased” social network. What this boils down to is that a major corporation doesn’t own it, so there’s never any need for its users to worry about their data being sold or used without their permission.
Free speech
CloutHub sells itself as “the People’s Platform”, which means it allows free speech and “meaningful civic, social and political” discourse. If you’re the sort of person who likes to participate in online groups or reach out to their community, then CloutHub might be what you’re after.
It claims to be open to all political groups, promises a clean and healthy environment, and is customer-focused. There’s also a ‘channels’ tab that lets anyone who runs a business promote their services to other users.
Straightforward UI
CloutHub won’t win any awards for its user interface, but then it doesn’t need to. Once you’ve logged in and opened an account (both actions are free), you’ll find it’s laid out similarly to a lot of other social media networks.
As well as your profile page, where you can update your status and upload videos and images, you’ll find a homepage with information relevant to your interests. You can also filter news by topic, create your own private group, and access community resources.
Social media for the people
Of course, it’s subjective just how meaningful any social media conversations can be, but CloutHub seeks to give its users the power to make a change. If you’re tired of traditional social networks, CloutHub’s promise of privacy and free speech offers an interesting alternative platform.
