This is a great free antivirus software for basic malware protection. Because it is constantly updating and checking for threats, it provides a decent barrier to viruses with small system impact. This version does not include camera protection but does include various email screenings and firewall protections.

A nice feature of the program is the built-in file shredder, for your sensitive documents and embarrassing photos. There are built-in defenses for email attachments that may include spyware or malware. If there is a threat, it is sent to AVG’s lab. If something is proven to be bad news, the app adds it to the next database update. The database is updated several times per day.
Not the best
The antiviral capacities of AVG are not the most impressive available today. It falls short on malware-catching abilities, especially when looking for ransomware. While this software is decent for free antiviral protection, there are other options available that may be more efficient in protecting your device. It also prompts for consistent upgrades. Some alternatives work better.
