Smartphones and tablets are supposed to be personal devices, but it's rarely so. You hand them around to play games, watch videos, and more. AppLock is there to help you stay at ease by allowing you to lock apps of choice. You may lock the settings, preventing other people’s to install or uninstall apps from your device.
Easy to use
Using AppLock is a straightforward process. When you enter the app, you'll see a list containing all the apps you can secure, as well as actions and accesses available for locking. You'll find a tray in the right corner which grants entrance to the Unlock Settings and lets you change your pattern lock.
When somebody attempts to enter a locked app or perform a secured action, they'll see a login screen. If the person doesn't know the password, they can only return to the home screen. Plus, you may create a profile that secures your devices in different situations - for example, if you have kids, you may disable them from entering everything except games.
For an additional level of security, you can create a cover. Covers are fake screens telling you the app has stopped working or asking a fingerprint for access. Moreover, your photos and videos may stay securely stored in a Vault, and the widget allows you to block or allow access all the apps at once by entering the pattern.
You don't need to pay to get the premium features, because people with a free account can access premium features through watching various advertisements. Otherwise, you get a basic account with only the general functionalities, but an ad-free one. The premium options include the photo and video vaults, profiles, automated locks, and customisable backgrounds.
If you forget your password, you may ask for email verification. Be careful what you type if you use the randomised keyboard, though, as it may lock you out of your apps, too. Some users have reported that email recovery is unreliable, making you unable to uninstall the app.
Adds another layer of security
AppLock comes with a plethora of useful features. By including password locks for various apps, and can lock your system are two great features of this programme. Besides, the premium features (which may be used by people with standard accounts) will keep your information private from people who have your device.
However, the app does need some polishing to be fully reliable. There are glitches here and there, as well as moments where the services don't work as promised, making AppLock challenging to trust, especially when it comes to security apps.
